AL SHANK SEZ.......So as Al Shank Insurance enters its' 80th year we celebrate "The Reason." Those of you that lived through the Great Depression or have heard about it can imagine how difficult it would be to lose a main breadwinner and head of the family in 1931 while the Depression was going on. My Mother, Maxine and my Grandmother, Rose and Mom's 5 sisters (Joan, Kay, Becky, Francis and Mary Rose,) experienced just such a loss. Strong women all, but in 1931 they lost my Grandfather George to pneumonia.......so Grandmother was faced with raising 6 girls with no husband during the Depression. The good news was that Grandfather had life insurance and that was one of the reasons Grandmother was able to keep the family together, maintain their house and raise her girls. My Dad, who was dating Mom, was so impressed what life insurance had done for Grandmother and the girls and he never forgot. In 1941 when Al Shank Insurance was established that was "The Reason." So now you know "The Reason" too.
Just another example of how bad things can teach valuable lessons to people and inspire them to do good things. Although I never met my Grandfather and hardly knew my Grandmother, the decision by them to carry life insurance impacted me just as much as anyone. Who knows what path my parents, sisters and I would have set upon if Grandfather hadn't made the "wise" decision to protect his family. So here we are 90 years after his death celebrating the 80th anniversary of Al Shank Insurance. All Grandfather wanted to do was protect his family and by doing so the consequences were so much bigger. He is a hero in the history of a business he never saw come to fruition and didn't even know would exist. Who do you know you need to take care of today? Life insurance is one way to do it. We can help.
BY THE WAY, OUR LOBBY IS OPEN AGAIN. Thanks for your patience during the pandemic.
